Hi loves,

Is it me or does this feel like your a kid again and you’re stuck on the longest car ride ever and anxiously just want to get out and reach your destination? I have officially been home from work for a month now, although it feels so much longer. Everyday that passes I still wake up hoping this was all a horrible nightmare. What has been helping you get by each day? What outlets have assisted in bringing your anxiety down? What helps you pass the time? Have you started any new hobbies?

With my son now home from school, he definitely keeps me very busy during the day. That change alone has been a huge struggle for our family! He is a kid who actually enjoyed attending school even though it didn’t come very easy to him. He faces challenges from ADHD ( a whole other blog post) and I was praying that this school closure would be an easier change for him. The first couple of weeks were very hard. We try our best to keep on a set schedule and work on making school fun for him to stay engaged and focused. None of this has been easy but we are all adjusting more day by day. After a month, I think we are finally getting a good hang of “school time”.

I found that when we were done with school for the day my anxiety would start up all over again and I desperately needed to find an outlet for myself to keep my mind off of everything. Last year I mainly focused on the styling portion of my business but while I was still providing makeup services for others, I had less time for makeup looks on myself. Makeup has always been a creative outlet for me. It not only helps me mentally but I have a love for art and miss getting to be creative. This quarantine has brought back my passion and I have been trying to combine both fashion and makeup to utilize my looks on camera.

My hubby is far from an Insta-husband and I am far from a professional model but since he gets to witness my daily anxiety first hand, he has been an amazing support about taking pictures of my “stuck at home shoots”. It also doesn’t hurt that we are doing them at our own home rather than me asking him to take me around to different locations, take tons of pictures all while there is a crowd of people watching!

I try my best to make it fun for all of us! We have tons of behind the scenes bloopers! My hubby is now my shoot tester and will pose for me first, most of the time the cat will jump in as well. My son has refused to let me shoot him while being home so he has agreed to do some of my shoots. He gets to scout the locations (around our building or in our place of course) takes the photos and edits the pictures. I love seeing his creative mind come to life! Although this has been my personal outlet, it has turned out to be a family activity. We now go through all of my ideas and make a plan for each shoot, even if they last just a few minutes.

I encourage you to find something that works for you. If you are alone or at home with your family try to make your outlet fun. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. This could be something as simple as writing a daily journal, a new craft, a house project, gardening, or working out. Find that outlet that will ease your mind, even if it’s just for a short time during the day. We are all experiencing the unknown together so don’t feel alone.

I hope this long road trip we are all on ends soon! I can’t wait to hear about what has helped you get by and what your outlet has been. I will continue to try my best to stay positive and help spread the love!

Please continue to stay safe and love one another,

Veronica, xoxo
